Okay, so my New Year's resolution is this...blogging more. I'm already off to a good start I'd say. 1/11/11 = post #1 of 2011. I see my sister's blog and am beyond entertained looking at the pictures (and discovering things I wouldn't have otherwise) and I figure that now that I have a baby I should do this more often, right?
So an exciting milestone happened yesterday! Rielyn rolled over! (Only took the stinker 5 1/2 months!) And of course she did it without mommy watching...turd. In fact, I have yet to see it. I brought her to her old daycare in Omaha due to the weather and informed them that we have been working hard to roll over but had no success yet and that if she should roll over they shouldn't tell me so that when I do see it, I at least have the illusion that it was the first exciting time. I layed her on her tummy on the floor then walked away to get out her bottles, formula, diapers, etc and 30 seconds later I looked over and she's on her back! What the heck?! I ran over there and said "did she just roll over?!" and the teacher said "you told me not to tell you if she did." So I did what any mother would do...I picked her up, gave her a congratulatory hug, told her how proud I was (which I'm sure just came out in a bunch of unrecognizable shreaks), then put her right back down on her tummy and pleaded with her to do it again. Of course, she didn't....in fact, she realized she was on her tummy again, got mad and instead of using her deductive reasoning skills and rolilng over again, she started screaming. So I picked her up and she was happy but has since refused to roll over for mommy...or anyone else for that matter. Maybe tomorrow!
Other exciting things in the boss's life: Rielyn is now sitting with a boppy behind her. She has definitely found her diva side and has become more vocal but she's given mommy some of the sweetest moments this week conversing about life, love, fashion, work, daycare... And she got her first baby food experience on Sunday! So far we've only tried carrots which has not been a big hit. I don't blame her, I gagged on them too. Tomorrow is green beans so hopefully that goes better!
