Been a while since I've written....I'm sorry.
Work has tripled in intensity lately and I feel like life is in such a whirlwind that I haven't had time to do anything lately. My staff are fully trained and all new seven people have their very own caseload which comes with LOTS of questions. I did get a lead worker and she's been helpful with questions but still, some days all I do is answer questions and have to work from home to get anything done. I should be doing that this weekend but who wants to work over Easter?
Ben is studying for boards (which are FINALLY over on Tuesday) so I haven't seen much of him lately. He's been burrowed away in our bedroom and just comes out to eat and say goodnight to Rielyn.
Rielyn is getting sooo big! I can't believe she was 9 months old yesterday. She's getting a little more mobile every day with rolling and trying to scoot. She doesn't scoot yet but somehow she's never where I left her when I leave the room and come back. We're starting table food and cups...not sure how she'll take it, seems how she gags on every chunk in the step 3 baby foods but I guess we'll see. We went to her 9 month well baby check today and she went from 15% in height and weight at 6 months to 20% in weight, 56% in height and 65% in head circum. The doctor also found a bit of thrush in her mouth. They treated in with this purple "stain" they "painted" her mouth with. They said it was going to last for 24 hours but she should look normal by Easter again. I kinda laughed not realizing just HOW purple it really was! I was pretty shocked when her lips and entire mouth turned purple and didn't go away. So then of course I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home...The second I walked in I felt like everyone was staring at the little baby with the freakish mouth. I grabbed only the bare essentials (fish for dinner and ice cream) and headed to the checkout. The lady was really quiet but I caught her looking at Rielyn. I said "You'll have to excuse my daughter's purple mouth..." The lady said "Yeah, I noticed....What happened?" I told her we were just at the doctor and it was medicine and she responded with, "Oh, it looks like she was crewing on a pen and it exploded in her mouth. I didn't want to say anything." I told her I wasn't a bad mother and left. But we came home and surprised daddy with her cool purple lips and tongue and he thought it was sweet so I didn't feel as bad. Plus, we got some awesome pics...they were too cute not to post.
Oh yes, and Happy Easter everybody!
LOVE the purple mouth pic...cracks me up and isn't she just the sweetest little thing?! So skinny compared to my plump babies!! :)
